A gentle, confidence-building drop-off experience for little learners. Our Pre-K Practice Camp is a 3-day mini “camp” designed to help 3-4 year olds ease into the routines and social skills they’ll need for Pre-K, all in a fun, supportive environment. We will focus on three main elements:

1. Gentle Goodbyes Through Play

We help children practice short, successful separations in a happy, engaging environment. By keeping sessions predictable and engaging, children learn that goodbyes can be safe, positive, and temporary, building trust and emotional security.

2. Playing Together in a Group

Through circle time, Open Play, and shared activities, children learn how to be part of a group. We practice listening, taking turns, waiting patiently, and interacting with friends, helping children build confidence and early social skills in a playful, low-pressure setting.

3. Growing Independence with Routines

We encourage children to try things on their own, choosing activities, participating in crafts, and following simple routines. These moments help children feel capable and proud, building the independence they’ll use every day in Pre-K.

  • This camp is designed for children ages 3–4 years old who are preparing for Pre-K.

  • Yes. This is a drop-off camp. Caregivers will say goodbye at drop-off and return at pick-up time.

  • Yes. All children must be fully potty trained to attend Pre-K Practice Camp.

  • That’s very normal! This camp is intentionally short and structured to help children practice separation in a gentle, supportive environment. Our staff is experienced in helping children feel comfortable and confident.

Additional Info & FAQs

  • Caregivers will check children in at the front desk and say goodbye at drop-off. To help children settle in and build confidence, we encourage quick, consistent goodbyes. Our team will be ready to welcome each child and guide them into the morning’s activities.

  • Please send your child in comfortable clothes they can play and craft in. We recommend a labeled water bottle and a small, nut-free snack.

  • To ensure a supportive and high-quality experience, Pre-K Practice Camp is limited to just 10 children per session. We have at least 3 experienced team members on site at all times, allowing for a high adult-to-child ratio. This helps us provide individualized attention, support smooth transitions, and respond quickly to each child’s needs throughout the day.

  • At 2:45 PM, children will transition to our party room for a snack and a calm wind-down while waiting for pickup. Children will be checked out individually to an approved adult listed on their registration. For safety purposes, Rainbow Lane reserves the right to request a photo ID at pickup.

    Late pickups are subject to a fee of $25 per 15 minutes.
